  • Gregory Baker

    Gregory C. Baker

    Mr. Baker received his J.D. from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law and holds a Masters and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah. Prior to working at TraskBritt, Mr. Baker worked as a television engineer for KUED Television where he assisted in the station’s transition from analog to digital and high definition technology. Mr. Baker also assisted in the implementation of the station’s hardware and software automation and digital asset management systems.

    While attending law school, Mr. Baker was honored as a William H. Leary Scholar and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in patent law. Mr. Baker also served as an editor of the Utah Law Review and was a clerk for the Honorable Dee V. Benson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah.

  • Daniel Bezdjian

    Daniel J. Bezdjian

    Mr. Bezdjian received his J.D. from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Bezdjian also received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah, where he graduated magna cum laude. Prior to working at TraskBritt, Mr. Bezdjian worked as a chemical engineer for Tesoro Corporation where he participated in unit optimization and focused on increasing yields while minimizing energy losses and greenhouse gas emissions.

    During law school, Mr. Bezdjian received the CALI Award for the highest grade in patent drafting and in intellectual property licensing. Mr. Bezdjian was also awarded a Quinney Student Fellowship where he performed legal research for various faculty. Mr. Bezdjian also served as an associate editor of the Utah Law Review.

  • Brett Booth

    Brett C. Booth

    Mr. Booth received his J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he graduated with honors.  While attending law school, Mr. Booth was honored as a William H. Leary scholar and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in trademark law.

    Mr. Booth holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah, and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Brigham Young University.  At BYU, Mr. Booth served as a research assistant in the field of MIMO wireless communications.  Also, as an undergraduate at the University of Utah, he participated in research involving electrically scanned antenna arrays and adaptive cruise-control for automotive applications.

    Mr. Booth brings industry experience to TraskBritt in the fields of satellite and line-of-sight wireless communications, analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, control systems, financial engineering, and software development.

  • William Britt

    William S. Britt

    Mr. Britt, of counsel, has been in private practice since 1969 and has extensive experience in obtaining, enforcing, and licensing intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Prior to founding TraskBritt, he was a patent attorney for PPG Industries and an adjunct and associate professor of law at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His technological areas of expertise include the fields of high technology materials, inorganic and organic chemicals, chemical processing, agricultural chemicals and equipment, medical equipment, and engineered structures. He has served as an expert witness in trade secret, trademark, and patent litigation and as an arbitrator in commercial disputes, and also has experience in intellectual property antitrust matters.

    Mr. Britt has received Martindale Hubbell’s AV rating, the publication’s highest rating, and has been listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” for ten consecutive years. He is also a member of the Academy of Chemical Engineers, West Virginia University.

    H. Dickson Burton

    Mr. Burton is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on helping clients resolve patent, trademark and trade secret disputes. His clients range from large, publicly traded companies to small technology startups. Mr. Burton has successfully led trial teams in state and federal courts around the country, as well as in IPRs and other proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.     Catheter Connections v. Ivera Medical/3M – Medical Device patent dispute hotly contested over several years in multiple states.  Obtained two preliminary injunctions on three different patents, as well as a contempt order for opponent’s violation of one of the injunctions, leading to a favorable settlement.

    Won-Door Corporation v. Cornell Iron Works – Patent infringement case involving movable partitions.  Obtained a preliminary injunction after extensive briefing and two court hearings, leading to a consent judgment and permanent injunction against Cornell.

    Storm Products v. Ebonite – Defended patent infringement case involving bowling balls.  Obtained Court Order invalidating Ebonite patent.  Affirmed on appeal.

    SME Steel Contractors v. Star Seismic – Obtained dismissal of patent infringement case relating to seismic braces used in steel frame construction, affirmed on appeal; subsequently defended related claims of breach of license agreement, fraud and tortious interference to trial, obtaining a judgment dismissing all claims and awarding attorneys’ fees of nearly $1 million.

    Choice Hotels v. JMS Lodging – Trademark infringement case – obtained judgment and permanent injunction.

    Etagz v. TV Guide Magazine – Defended TV Guide in patent infringement case; settled favorably on the eve of summary judgment hearing.

    Mr. Cataxinos is a Director and the Managing Shareholder of TraskBritt. His practice emphasizes patent preparation and prosecution and patent related litigation. Mr. Cataxinos performs patent and technology portfolio evaluations and audits for clients. He regularly advises clients on intellectual property licensing, trademark cancellations and oppositions, and patent interferences. In addition, Mr. Cataxinos has litigated numerous intellectual property matters through trial and has successfully argued appeals before the Federal Circuit in patent matters.

    Mr. Cataxinos is a registered pharmacist with twenty years of industry experience in intravenous medications, pharmacokinetics, and general laboratory analysis. As the Director of Pharmacy Services for a specialty pharmacy services provider, Mr. Cataxinos created protocols and procedures for accreditation and ongoing compliance for state and federal health care agencies. He has written in the area of Drug and Dietary Supplements and drafted model protocols for FDA approval of new drugs.

    Ms. Doe is active in the Association of Legal Administrators and held the office of President of the Valley of the Sun Chapter in 2000-2001. She also served two terms as co-chair of the Arizona State Bar Law Practice Management Section and served six years on the Association of Legal Administrators’ Certification Committee, the last three of those years as the committee chairperson. Prior to working at TraskBritt, Mr. Flores worked as a chemical engineer for the launch systems division of Alliant Techsystems, where he participated in the design and optimization of industrial process related to energetic materials reclamation and neutralization, water treatment and remote firing systems. Mr. Flores also worked as an engineering technician for the Institute of Combustion and Energy studies, where he assisted with the construction and analysis of multiple pilot scale reactors, such as an entrained flow gasification reactor, a pulverized coal/multifuel furnace and a grate fired furnace.

    Jeff’s practice focuses on patent and trademark prosecution and litigation for corporate clients throughout the United States and around the globe. He provides on-going services to clients involved in the fields of semiconductors, oil and gas, aerospace and defense, medical and dental products, and consumer products.  His experience extends through various technology areas including materials science, chemistry and chemical processes, nanotechnology, optical technology, mechanical devices, and electromechanical devices.

    In addition to prosecution and litigation, Jeff has substantial experience in patent reexamination proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in assisting clients with joint research and development projects and licensing arrangements involving intellectual property.

    In addition to his law degree, Mr. Gunn holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Utah. Prior to joining TraskBritt, Mr. Gunn worked for C.R. Bard, a leading manufacturer of medical devices.

Mr. Gutke received the Rickert Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement. The Rickert Award Program is considered the most prestigious awards program conducted by the College of Law. Mr. Gutke also served as Notes Editor for the Journal of Law, Technology & Policy.

    During law school, Mr. Gutke was invited to take part in the Patent Pilot Program at the College of Law. As part of this program, Mr. Gutke worked in a collaborative effort between the College of Law and the Technology Entrepreneur Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to assist start-up companies in protecting their intellectual property.

    Andrew A. Hufford

    Mr. Hufford holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside.  His Master’s degree research focused on localizing a novel human tumor suppressor gene on chromosome 11q.  He also studied the molecular pathway for vitellogenesis (egg maturation) in the Aedes aegypti mosquito, using RNA interference, real-time PCR, and microinjection techniques.  In 1996, he was awarded a Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Fellowship to promote his work.  He then joined the Ph.D. program with the UCLA Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology, researching the role of lactic acid accumulation and glutamate excitotoxicity in the period immediately following fluid percussive traumatic brain injury in rats.

    He was a Professor of Biology for seven years before law school, and has taught Molecular Biology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Chemistry to students ranging from first-year undergraduates through medical students.

    He served as Articles Editor, Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy (2009-2010).

    His practice focuses on patent prosecution in Biotechnology, Pharmacology, and Chemistry, and patent and trademark litigation.

    Dr. Srisiri has had extensive experience as a scientist and a business manager prior to practicing patent law. After receiving her Ph.D., Dr. Srisiri worked as a scientist at Johnson Polymer for three years before joining the Specialty Chemicals Division of MeadWestvaco Corporation as a senior scientist. Dr. Srisiri then worked as a market development manager for the Specialty Chemical Divisions of MeadWestvaco where she was responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, as well as working closely with in-house counsel to create robust IP portfolios for various new businesses, form joint ventures/LLCs, and divest non-strategic businesses.     Prior to attending graduate school, Dr. Stein studied the molecular mechanics of membrane transport proteins, including excitatory amino acid transporters and nucleoside transporters from Leishmania donovani. Dr. Stein’s doctoral dissertation concerned the molecular mechanism of hyperalgesia, and specifically revealed that phospholipid signaling mediated by PI3K recruits new pain-sensitive ion channels to the cell membrane in nociceptive neurons exposed to nerve growth factor. As a post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Stein investigated the directed differentiation of human embryonic stem cells into functional cardiomyocytes.

    Mr. Walkowski brings over thirty years of intellectual property experience to TraskBritt, where he is a Director and Shareholder. Prior to joining TraskBritt, Mr. Walkowski served in corporate positions in the oil service industry, first with Halliburton Company and subsequently as chief patent counsel for Eastman Christensen, now a subsidiary of Baker Hughes Incorporated. His practice focuses on acquisition and exploitation of intellectual property rights and his background includes substantial experience in U.S. and international patent prosecution as well as intellectual property licensing and litigation.

Mr. Whitlock was an Executive Editor for Law & Contemporary Problems, Duke Law School’s oldest journal. He was an officer of the Intellectual Property and Cyberlaw Society.

    Mr. Whitlock, a Registered Patent Attorney, holds B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Chemical Engineering. He has worked in research, development, testing, and evaluation of weapons systems for the U.S. Government, primarily rocket propulsion systems.
